The subject focuses on developing skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening, with an emphasis on critical thinking and effective communication. Students will engage with a wide variety of texts—from literary works to practical, real-world materials—while honing their ability to analyze, interpret, and express ideas clearly and confidently.
Key components of the subject include:
- Literary Appreciation and Analysis: Students will explore diverse genres of literature, including poetry, drama, and prose, to deepen their understanding of themes, techniques, and cultural contexts.
- Oral Communication: Students will practice effective speaking and listening skills through discussions, debates, and presentations, fostering confidence in public speaking.
- Writing and Composition: Emphasis is placed on writing various forms of texts—essays, reports, and creative works—while focusing on clarity, coherence, and organization.
- Critical Thinking: Students will engage with complex materials, analyze perspectives, and develop arguments while strengthening their ability to assess, critique, and synthesize information.
By the end of the course, students are expected to be well-equipped to handle advanced academic writing, effective communication in diverse settings, and engage with complex texts critically and thoughtfully.
