The Disciplines and Ideas in the Social Sciences module introduces students to the various fields within the social sciences and the key concepts, theories, and ideas that shape these disciplines. It provides an overview of how social scientists examine human behavior, societies, cultures, politics, and economies, helping students understand the interconnectedness of human experiences and the study of social systems.

This module highlights the importance of social sciences in understanding societal issues, addressing global challenges, and shaping policies. Students will explore key disciplines such as sociology, psychology, economics, political science, anthropology, and history, while also gaining insight into the different methodologies used in these fields to gather, analyze, and interpret data.

The course encourages students to think critically about human behavior, social structures, and global issues, and to apply social science knowledge to everyday life and current events.
