Industrial Arts

The Industrial Arts module is designed to provide students with hands-on experience and practical skills in various trades and crafts related to the industrial field. This module aims to equip students with the knowledge of basic tools, techniques, and materials used in creating functional and aesthetic products, as well as understanding safety protocols in an industrial setting.

Students will explore various areas of industrial arts, including woodworking, metalworking, electronics, plumbing, automotive technology, and other technical skills. They will learn how to properly use hand tools, power tools, and machinery to create projects, as well as understand the processes involved in shaping, cutting, assembling, and finishing materials.

Key topics include the identification and proper handling of materials (wood, metal, plastic, etc.), the basic principles of construction, repair, and maintenance, as well as design and fabrication techniques. Students will also gain knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical concepts, which are vital for working in industrial arts settings.

The module will place a strong emphasis on safety and preventive maintenance practices to ensure that students understand the importance of working responsibly and safely in workshops and technical environments. Additionally, the module encourages creativity and problem-solving by requiring students to design and execute projects that demonstrate both technical and artistic capabilities.

By the end of the Industrial Arts module, students will have a solid foundation in various industrial skills, preparing them for careers in trades such as carpentry, welding, automotive repair, or even entrepreneurship within the industrial sector.
