Agribusiness and Fishery
The Agribusiness and Fishery module is designed to provide students with foundational knowledge and skills related to agricultural and fishery practices, with a focus on sustainability and productivity. This module aims to prepare students for careers in agriculture and fisheries by equipping them with practical skills in farming, fish cultivation, and agribusiness management.
Students will explore various topics, including crop production, animal husbandry, aquaculture, and the management of fisheries. They will learn about the principles of sustainable farming and fishing, the importance of soil fertility, irrigation, pest management, and techniques to improve yield and maintain healthy ecosystems.
The module also covers the essentials of running an agribusiness, such as planning, marketing, and financial management. Students will gain insight into modern technologies and innovations in agriculture and fisheries, including the use of machinery, sustainable farming techniques, and fish breeding practices.
In addition, the module emphasizes the importance of environmental conservation and resource management in both agriculture and fisheries. Students will also engage in hands-on activities, giving them practical experience in planting, harvesting, raising livestock, and managing fishponds or fish farms.
By the end of the Agribusiness and Fishery module, students will have a deeper understanding of the processes involved in agricultural and fishery production, the ability to manage agricultural or fishery operations, and the knowledge needed to pursue careers or entrepreneurship in these vital industries.
