
Arts and Design
The Arts and Design module is designed to cultivate students' creativity, artistic skills, and appreciation for various forms of art and design. It aims to introduce students to the fundamental concepts and techniques in visual arts, graphic design, and other art-related disciplines, enabling them to express their ideas and emotions through various artistic mediums.
Students will explore the elements and principles of design, such as line, shape, color, texture, space, balance, contrast, and harmony. The module also covers the history of art and design, introducing students to different art movements, styles, and renowned artists from various cultures and periods.
Throughout the module, students will engage in hands-on activities, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital design. They will learn how to create art pieces using traditional methods as well as digital tools like graphic design software. Topics like typography, layout design, and visual storytelling will also be covered to help students understand the creative process in both fine arts and commercial design.
The module emphasizes the role of creativity in problem-solving and encourages students to develop their own artistic identity while fostering critical thinking and technical skills in art creation. It also highlights the importance of collaboration in the field of design, preparing students for opportunities in the creative industries.
